Col Thafar Maaitah(R) Dr. is a Jordanian strategic expert in the field of Security and Counter Terrorism / Human Rights; he served at the Jordanian Public Security Department for 23 years (Special Police / Counter Terrorism – Secret Services / Criminal Investigation department, Preventive Security and Interpol Amman as Deputy Director).His doctorate degree titled ” The Role of Regional Organizations in Countering Terrorism and Human Rights.” And presently serve as Security Advisor of Corporate Security of Roads & Transports in Dubai. Mr Maaitah worked at the United Nations Headquarters (UNHQ) – New York and in many field missions (Bosnia, Kosovo, and Darfur). Mr Maaitah had the opportunity to work at the Jordanian National Centre for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) as a head of Counter Terrorism Analysis Office (CTAO) for five years. He was a member of the National Capabilities Assessment Team (NCAT). Currently, Mr Maaitah is working for Dubai Government / Roads and Transport Authority as Security Specialist. The core of his business to develop transport security strategy for Dubai and related policies, procedures and ensuring its implementations. Mr Maaitah rewarded twice for his achievements. Mr Maaitah obtained B.A and Master’s degree in Law (Counter-Terrorism Laws and its Implications on Human Rights. Diploma degree in Criminal Justice – Virginia University. Diploma Degree in Military Sciences. Currently, Mr Maaitah is PhD candidate in Law (Regional Organizations Role in Counter Terrorism and Protection of Human Rights). Mr Maaitah, regularly lectures at Universities, Defence Academies (NATO Defence College – Rome, International Organisations – United Nations / European Parliament, and has advised governments on radicalization and Counter Terrorism.
