After graduating from Jacksonville State University with an MBA and focus on Management and Accounting, I held the position of the Assistant to the Quotation Manager for an Atlantic Richfield Subsidiary in New Jersey.
In 1980, I joined the Arabian Technical Contracting Company (ARTC) as the Administration Manager and moved to Saudi Arabia.
I retuned home to the United States in 1986 and attended the University Of North Texas Graduate Program. In 1987, I joined the Internal Revenue Service as a Revenue Agent in the Division of Employee Plans and Exempt Organizations. In 1991, I joined the IRS Appeals Division as an Appeals Officer. I was later selected as a Technical Guidance Coordinator. I conducted hearings and negotiated Tax settlements of tax controversies. I drafted and had approved and published several Appeals settlement Guidelines relating to Tax Shelter issues.
In 2004, I took the position of Technical Guidance Team Manager where I supervised a number of Technical Guidance Coordinators, negotiated and approved settlements and Settlement Guidelines for Tax Shelter issues and Tax Controversies.
In 2006, I moved to Washington D.C. and took on the position of Executive Assistant to the Chief of Appeals. I also served in several Senior Manager Positions within the Appeals Division, including Director of Tax Policy and Procedures for Appeals and the Senior Operations Advisor for Policy, Quality and Case Support.
I retired from that position and the IRS in 2016 after 29 years of Service.
